VA pushes estimated cost for Cerner EHR revamp past $16B

The Department of Veterans Affairs added $350 million to the estimate for its new Cerner Corp. electronic health record modernization  program, pushing the 10-year cost of implementing the system past $16.1 billion. In May, the VA’s initial contract with the North Kansas City-based health IT company (Nasdaq: CERN) was for $10 billion.
