Richard Gottfried may be on verge of reshaping health care in New York

Assemblyman Richard Gottfried has spent nearly three decades pushing for New York to enact a single-payer health system. The bill, called the New York Health Act, is attracting a lot of attention this year. The Assembly has passed it four straight years. If Democrats take control of the state Senate, the legislation could pass there, too.
