PatientCare Acquires LifeCare EMS in Mississippi

TYLER, Texas (Sept. 14, 2018) – PatientCare Logistics Solutions, a leading provider of ground-based 911 emergency ambulance and other critical healthcare logistics services, today acquired LifeCare EMS, which serves six counties in Mississippi. PatientCare will operate under the name LifeCare EMS in the greater Carthage, Mississippi area, which includes Leake, Winston, Newton, Scott, Noxubee and Kemper counties. Lifecare EMS will continue to provide uninterrupted 911 and non-emergency ambulance service with advanced life support (ALS) and basic life support (BLS) services. “LifeCare EMS has provided excellent patient care to central Mississippi for more than 25 years, and it is a key reason why we were interested in acquiring the company,” said Ron Schwartz, president of PatientCare. “We plan to invest in new technology and introduce proven operations best practices, which will further benefit the local community.” Longtime owners H.L. Goolsby and his daughter Leigh Ann Goolsby Magee will continue to serve in leadership roles for LifeCare EMS in partnership with Jerry Johnston, who will serve as the new chief operating officer.
