Measurement of Altered Muscle Properties in Stroke-impaired Muscle Using Shear Wave Ultrasound Elastography

To investigate changes in muscle properties in stroke-impaired muscle, specifically 1) material properties by using a novel technology, shear wave (SW) ultrasound elastography, to measure SW velocity which is related to stiffness and 2) muscle composition by using B-mode ultrasound imaging to measure echogenicity. The second aim was to determine if these changes are related to functional impairment.
