CONCLUSION: Treadmill exercise improved motor function and short-term memory through increasing synaptic plasticity and neurogenesis in photothrombotic stroke mice. Treadmill exercise can be used as an effective treatment strategy to improve brain function related to stroke. PMID: 32482055 [PubMed]

CONCLUSION: In left and right stroke rehabilitants with equally mild neglect, those with left stroke had higher stroke severity, cognitive and total disability and dependence level. Neglect severity correlated with right or left stroke severity and functional ability, moderate to severe neglect correlated significantly more with functioning. Neglect severity was independently associated with functional outcome in right stroke. PMID: 32488286 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

CONCLUSION: Mild neglect did not impair recovery after right or left stroke, but rehabilitants with neglect were more disabled and needed a longer rehabilitation inpatient stay than those without neglect. PMID: 32488283 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

CONCLUSIONS: Inflammatory markers like NLR, LMR and CAR on admission were associated with increased risks of 30-day mortality and 90-day poor outcome in patients with critically ill stroke. Especially, high NLR is independently associated with 90-day poor outcome. PMID: 32486607 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

This report provides 2017-2018 U.S. hypertension prevalence estimates using the 2017 American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association definition of hypertension (3) and new guidelines, which redefine hypertension by lowering the previous threshold levels of 140/90 mmHg to 130/80 mmHg (4). This change categorizes a greater percentage of people as having hypertension. PMID: 32487290 [PubMed - in process]

CONCLUSIONS: Ticagrelor monotherapy after 1-month DAPT provided consistent treatment effects on ischemic endpoints in patients with or without ACS but only the former experienced a net clinical benefit.
