Middle Mediastinal Thymoma

Here, we report 3 cases of thymoma that arise from the middle mediastinum. Surgical resections were performed with dissection of the azygos vein, which led to safe separation of the tumors from mediastinal structures. Although rare, thymoma should be included in the differential diagnosis for middle mediastinal tumors. Thymoma is the most common neoplasm in the mediastinum, which arises from the thymus. Although most thymomas are found in the anterior mediastinum, they can also arise from other locations. However, there are few case reports of thymoma in the middle mediastinum. Here, we report 3 cases of thymoma that arise from the middle mediastinum.
