Local hospitals penalized by Medicare

Several hospitals in the Pittsburgh region were among 751 nationwide that received lower Medicare payments for a year. Kaiser Health Network said that the lowered payments came out of the Affordable Care Act and included rates due to hospital-acquired infections, bed sores, wound ruptures and others.
