Antibiotics for acute bronchitis

This Cochrane Review examined data from 17RCTs, and concluded there is limited evidence of benefit to support use of antibiotics. Antibiotics may have some beneficial effect in frail, elderly people but magnitude of benefit needs to be considered in context of potential side effects, resistance, and costs.
