Medical imaging dev ImageMoverMD raises $1m

Secure medical imaging software company ImageMoverMD has raised $1.2 million in a new round of equity financing, according to an SEC filing posted this week. ImageMoverMD is developing a software platform that connects photos, videos and outside medical images with enterprise imaging and electronic health records. The software platform allows clinicians to use smartphones to take images of patients and store them securely on the system where they can be stored with electronic health record data, according to an Xconomy report. Pictures taken using the ImageMoverMD mobile app are then erased from the users phones after transmission. “The phone never actually looks at the medical record. It never knows who the patient is,” co-founder Gary Wendt told Xconomy. The ImageMoverMD application is available on both Google (NSDQ:GOOG) Android and AppleĀ (NSDQ:AAPL) iOS devices, according to Xconomy. Money in the round came from 24 anonymous investors, with the 1st sale recorded on Aug. 14. The Middleton, Wisc.-based company is looking to raise an additional $183,423 in the round, according to an SEC filing, with a minimum investment of $5,030 required.
