Metro Atlanta company recalls sandwiches due to possible contamination
Lake City, Ga.-based Kabob's Acquisition Inc. recalled nearly 6,000 of its turkey and ham sandwiches due to possible Listeria contamination.
According to 11Alive, the 5,946 sandwiches contain a "non-meat" ingredient that could contain Listeria monocytogenes.
Consuming these monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, an infection that is especially dangerous to older people, infants, pregnant women and people with weakened immune systems. A Class I recall was issues, meaning the health risk is high.
