Health tech company Athenahealth consolidates national R & D operations

Health tech company Athenahealth Inc. has laid off more than 100 employees in San Francisco, the company confirmed this week, trimming its roster in the city to around 30 workers.

The Massachusetts-based company told the San Francisco Chronicle it is shifting its research and development focus to Austin and its hometown of Watertown, in the Boston area.
