A Standard Issue Southern Spring Thursday…

Mom and I were just talking about what we want to eat at the Mexican restaurant tonight. I was just very impressed mom was lucid and up so early.  Mom said she is playing it safe and getting her usual taco salad.  Me?  I might  try something completely random for the sheer hell of it.  I am leaning towards fajitas or chilies relleño , though. Both things I haven’t gotten in months. The last time I ordered chilies relleño they used regular bell peppers in a pinch instead of pablano peppers and it greatly disappointed me. I haven’t ordered it since that mishap. Spring Has Finally Sprung… I noticed on my drive to my parent’s house this morning that the Bradford pears are blooming.  Spring is officially here.  We are experiencing winter’s last gasp at the moment and the weather will get warmer and warmer as time progresses. I actually had to turn on my air conditioning yesterday it got so warm in the house. It said 78 degrees on my thermostat.   When Silence is not Always Golden… My father was very quiet last night and I unintentionally internalized his silence and feelings. I asked him how his day was.  He had to work another ten hours yesterday.  I finally asked him if he was outdone with me for some reason as he seemed so distant and cold. “I assure you I am not mad at you.  I just feel burnt out tonight.  I am about where I can’t work a ten hour day,” my father told me.
