In Memoriam: David V. Feliciano (1944 - 2024) - Pioneer, Master Surgeon, Mentor, Friend, Ally

David Feliciano was born into an Italian family in New York City.[1] He initially grew up in New York, but when his father left to serve in World War II, his mother moved to the family hometown in New Jersey. [1,2] Dr Feliciano's involvement with the medical profession started early, a result of his father's vocation – a community surgeon. Even as early as a five-year-old, he volunteered at the hospital, collecting samples and accompanying his father on rounds. During high school, over five consecutive summers, young David interned as a surgical tech in hospitals across New York City, cementing his interest an d passion in medicine and patient care.
