Clayton health care giant Centene completes sale of U.K. hospital company

The acquisition of Circle Health under then-CEO and Chairman Michael Neidorff raised questions last year from a financial analyst about why a U.S-based managed care company would branch out into an overseas country with a universal health care system. Dave Windley, a managing director at Jefferies and founding member of the firm ’s Healthcare Equity Research team, said Circle Health was a “non-core” acquisition by Centene.
