Nursing Nurses: Fostering Safety and Belonging for Successful Workplace Assimilation of Displaced Nurses From War and Conflict

The ongoing and new wars and conflict occurring in today ’s world have decimated local health care systems and displaced nurses and health care workers. As the demand for nursing professionals continues to rise, identifying and supporting nurses who have experienced involuntary migration as refugees could constitute an underutilized pool of talent with a diverse range of experience and qualifications. Successful assimilation into the US health care system requires a comprehensive strategy that prioritizes safety, and fosters a sense of belonging while considering the evolving needs and expectations of both nurse migrants and the health care instit utions.
