Sun Life Health, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) near Phoenix, Arizona, is leveraging their eClinicalWorks EHR platform to persuade patients to get the care they need. Taming the Paper Tiger In an interview with Healthcare IT Today Trey Davis, Director of Information Systems at Sun Life Health, shared insights into how the healthcare organization has leveraged eClinicalWorks’ technology to enhance patient care and maximize efficiency. Sun Life Health operates as a FQHC with 14 locations, serving approximately 47,000 patients. When Davis arrived at Sun Life Health he found that many of the processes still involved paper records. “There was a lot of paper involved,” remembered Davis. “We did not know where a lot of that paper came from or which data on the paper was correct or most up to date.” Davis and his team knew they would have to tame this paper tiger in order to provide better care to their community AND to reduce the frustration of their staff.
