PrEP2U: a novel community partnership HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis clinic

Broadening the access of HIV–pre-exposure prophylaxis (HIV-PrEP) prevents HIV transmission.1 In Brighton, we partnership with The Terrence Higgins Trust to deliver a community-based HIV-PrEP service (PrEP2U).2 PrEP2U operates weekly, offering comprehensive STI/HIV testing, HIV-PrEP monitoring and hepatitis A & B and human papilloma virus vaccinations. We aimed to explore whether PrEP2U is providing HIV-PrEP to a different population compared with our clinic. Eighty-two individuals attended PrEP2U between August and December 2022, 66 (80%) identified as cis-male, 5 (6%) cis-female, 5 (6%) trans-feminine, 2 (2%) trans-masculine and 4 (5%) non-binary. Thirty-one (38%) were non-UK born and 66 (80%) had not used HIV-PrEP previously. PrEP2U attendees were significantly more likely to be cis-female, trans-feminine, non-binary, non-UK born and had not used HIV-PrEP previously compared with the sexual health clinic (table 1).
