Sexual function and gynecologic surgery: where do we go from here?

Physical intimacy and procreation are some of the most innately human desires, and conditions that negatively impact sexual function and fertility often exact a toll on mental health, self-image, relationships, and general life course trajectory. Mayer-Rokitansky-K üster-Hauser (MRKH) is a rare congental condition characterized by agenesis of the Mullerian ducts in karotypic females (46, XX). Patients with MRKH typically present with variable degrees of uterovaginal agenesis, most commonly absent upper two-thirds of the vagina and absent or underdeveloped ute rus.
