Profile of a New Health Data Exchange Company healthKERI

When someone confronts potentially fatal health issues in their life, it’s always interesting to see how they react and what they do after that experience.  That’s why I had to sit down with Jared Jeffery, Founder at healthKERI, to learn more about his pathway to starting his new health data exchange company. For those not familiar with Jeffery, I first got to know him when he was working at KLAS and he was an active member of our Swaay.Health marketing community.  Unfortunately, a few years ago Jeffery had a health scare which landed him in the hospital with a diagnosis that seemed to give him only months to live.  The good news is that as Jeffery states it, his disease is just as unique as him and we’re happy to share that his prognosis looks good for him to live a long time to come and not the months his wife was originally told in the ED. What does one do after they have an experience that illustrates that life is fragile and could end at any time?  Well, for Jeffery the answer was to become an entrepreneur and start healthKERI.  Check out the video below to hear the full story and to learn more about the KERI standard that has been used in other industries and now Jeffery and his team are bringing to healthcare. Along with learning about healthKERI and the KERI standard, we ask Jeffery how healthKERI is different than other interoperability options out there and where the KERI standard would fit when it comes to other standards like HL7 and FHIR. ...
