A Look at Nabla Copilot ’ s Automatic Clinical Documentation

Regular readers know that I think ambient clinical voice is one of the most exciting things to happen in health IT since the $36 billion in EHR stimulus money.  The promise of automatic note generation is so beautiful and would solve so many of the pains associated with EHR software and more generally clinical documentation.  Of course, there are plenty of skeptics that say that the technology won’t get there or will be too expensive.  Time will tell on both of those, but when you look how quickly technology and AI are moving, my bet’s that ambient clinical voice will be a huge success. As such, that’s why I’ve done interviews with Nuance’s DAX solutions, Ambience Healthcare, Suki, OnPoint Healthcare Partners, and AWS HealthScribe with 3M.  Next up on the list of companies to feature in this space is a company out of France called Nabla.  What’s fascinating about Nabla is its Co-Founder and CEO, Alex Lebrun has been working in the AI space including one company acquired by Nuance and another acquired by Facebook.  Lebrun brings a different perspective to the problem and has spent a number of years with his team building a solution that actually works to automate the capture of clinical documentation with all its nuances.
