Moving orthopaedic procedures out of the operating theatre: Outpatient needle arthroscopy can reduce cost & waste, and increase inpatient capacity compared to conventional knee arthroscopy

Needle arthroscopy (NA) is an emerging technique that could streamline pathways, facilitate timely care, and reduce service burden. The primary aim was to assess the practical and economic viability of an outpatient NA service. Secondary aims were to assess the relative costs and benefits compared to a conventional arthroscopy (CA) service.
