Evaluation of the effectiveness of oxytocin and enalapril in the prevention of epidural fibrosis developed after laminectomy in rats

Epidural fibrosis that develops after spinal surgical interventions may form adhesions around neural structures, causing symptoms similar to those present before surgical treatment, and therefore, further surgical intervention may be required. These surgical re-interventions may lead to serious complications in the patient and leave the patient and the surgeon in a difficult situation [1,2]. To resolve these serious problems and prevent the development of epidural fibrosis, liquid or solid barriers, and systemic and local drugs have all been tried, but an agent providing optimum results has still not been found [3].
