Letter to the Editor

Although I enjoyed your editorial in the December 2022 issue of The Knee, “Current concepts in total knee arthroplasty” [1] I would have been happier if the discussion had included unicompartmental knee replacement (UKR). Two papers in the issue would have been particularly relevant [2,3]. The literature is remarkably consistent indicating that approximately half of a ll patients put forward for knee arthroplasty are suitable candidates for a unicompartmental replacement [4–6]. Typically, 48% for medial UKR, and 6.5% for a lateral UKR [5].
