Epistle

Recently I had the privilege of co-chairing an education webinar hosted by the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) on ‘Practical paediatrics for the generalist’.1 Using an online education platform, it delivered an eclectic mix of practical, cross- cutting issues of health inequalities and evidence-based talks based on ADC ‘Best Practice’ articles. This event was a coproduction with authors; participants were a wide range of health professionals including general practitioners, paediatricians, allied health and nursing staff. The webinar reminded me of how are authors’ contributions produceinvaluable education and practice resources and how the reach can be extended out through online and social platforms. The success of digital platforms depends hugely on careful and cohesive organisation as highlighted by the Learning and Teaching articles in this issue.
