Flu cases up almost half in a week as NHS answers near record 111 calls

NHS England report that there are now 336 patients with flu in critical care and an average 9390 patients in hospital each day with COVID. It is also reported that NHS 111 answered over 410,000 calls last week, the second busiest week on record.
