The Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) diet lowers blood pressure and cardiovascular disease risk. In this issue, Banerjee et  al. report that the DASH diet is associated with lower risk of end-stage kidney disease in individuals with stage 3 chronic kidney disease and hypertension. Conclusions: Bariatric surgery increased miR 192 and miR 200 urinary levels, key anti-fibrotic microRNAs that could contribute to a renal-protective mechanism and may be of value as urinary biomarkers following surgery.
