After years of treating patients, researching cancer and testing treatments, Tomoo Iwakuma made the discovery of his lifetime: Statins, typically used to lower cholesterol levels, could treat some types of cancer.

EKG in the emergency department is shown (see image below). Successful intervention of the culprit coronary artery is performed with one drug eluting stent.
