Distinct profiles of mental health need and high need overall among New Zealand adolescents - Cluster analysis of population survey data
CONCLUSION: We identified high prevalence of mental health challenges among adolescents, with distinct clusters of need. Youth mental health is not 'one size fits all'. Future research should explore youth behaviour and preferences in accessing support and consider how to best support the mental health of each cluster.PMID:38600641 | DOI:10.1177/00048674241243262 (Source: The Australian and New Zealand Journal of Psychiatry)

COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage - World Health Organization African Region, 2021-2023
MMWR Morb Mortal Wkly Rep. 2024 Apr 11;73(14):307-311. doi: 10.15585/mmwr.mm7314a3.ABSTRACTWith the availability of authorized COVID-19 vaccines in early 2021, vaccination became an effective tool to reduce COVID-19-associated morbidity and mortality. Initially, the World Health Organization (WHO) set an ambitious target to vaccinate 70% of the global population by mid-2022. However, in July 2022, WHO recommended that all countries, including those in the African Region, prioritize COVID-19 vaccination of high-risk groups, including older adults and health care workers, to have the greatest impact on morbidity and mortalit...

COVID-19: Social Distancing and Physical Activity in United Kingdom Residents With Visual Impairments
This study was conducted with the support of British Blind Sport and evaluates the effect of the lockdown policy on adults with visual impairments in the United Kingdom (UK). Methods: An online survey based on the World Health Organization's Global Physical Activity Questionnaire was completed by 73 participants (median age 35-44 years, 59% female) to gain information on how the implementation of the lockdown policy by the UK government has affected physical activity and sedentary behavior in adults that are visually impaired. Paired sample t-tests and Wilcoxon signed rank tests were used to analyze continuous and Likert s...

Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy among women with cardiovascular disease in Norway: A historical cohort study
ConclusionsThe occurrence of hypertensive disease of pregnancy in the study cohort was more than doubled compared to the general population in Norway. The role of calcification in predicting invasion of thymoma to adjacent organs
ConclusionThymoma calcification appears to correlate with increased invasiveness and recurrence rates, suggesting its potential as a predictor of tumor stage and prognosis. Despite its retrospective nature and inherent limitations, this study highlights the potential clinical significance of calcification in the surgical planning and prognostication of patients with thymoma. Effect of a Nutritional Education Program on Children's Undernutrition in Indonesia: A Randomized Controlled Trial
Children's undernutrition is a severe public health issue (Ssentongo et al., 2021). The World Health Organization (WHO, 2021a) defines children's undernutrition as a deficiency or imbalance in the intake of energy and nutrients, and includes wasting (i.e., low weight-for-height), stunting (i.e., low height-for-age), and being underweight (i.e., low weight-for-age). Globally, around 462 million children under 5 years were assessed as being underweight, a million children were stunted, and 45 million exhibited wasting (WHO, 2021b). Reevaluating Associations between Prenatal Care Utilization and Current Trends in Preterm Birth
Conclusion Despite an increase in adequate PNC, there was a rise in PTB associated with inadequate and suboptimal PNC. PNC utilization was a stronger risk factor in recent years with higher PTB in patients who attended more than five PNC visits.
