I keep seeing candidates referring to themselves as a "veterinary technician" or working as a technician for the experience hours. As a credentialed veterinary technician who has been in the field for 16 years, PLEASE STOP. Please start referring to your hours as veterinary experience hours, or veterinary assistant hours. You don't see medical school applicants advertising the hours they worked as a nurse, because they did not.

WAMC for Post Bacc? Non-Traditional
I'm in a bit of a special situation here. A compound of many things
Went to college for Economics, GPA 3.4. Figured out I want to become a vet a couple months before graduation. Applied to Tufts' post bacc program and got rejected. Now 26, working in corporate America, and rethinking my career.
Took 1 semester of chemistry and 1 semester of physics while working. No science class from college. Now considering pursuing school full time to get my pre reqs faster.

UNIC - Nicosia DVM Program 2024
Anyone attending Nicosia (UNIC) DVM program or thinking about applying for 2024 from US or Canada? As the Nicosia DVM program is not accredited and also the University of Nicosia is not even listed under the AVMA ECFVG non-accredited veterinary colleges (https://www.avma.org/sites/default/files/2023-06/ECFVG-list-veterinary-colleges.pdf), can Nicosia DVM graduate able to write NAVLE and other exams to get licensed in US/Canada (i.e. practice in US or Canada)? Clinical Year Choice
Hello everyone!
I'm a current DVM student at St. George's and we have just received our school choices for our clinical year.
I'm extremely interested in exotic medicine, specifically ZCA. Does anyone have any advice on schools that might best cater to this? I really like Wisconsin's program, as well as Tufts, but they say ZCA space is limited and not guaranteed for the latter. Any suggestions or personal experience is very helpful! Thanks much. Differentials for students
Hi all,
We are becoming a new clinical site for vet students, and to make sure I am up to speed, when a student is presenting their problem list and then differentials, how do you like them in order? DAMNIT-V/VITAMIN-D? Have them say (for vomiting in dog) "it could be metabolic disease such as Cushing's, Addison's, DM. Infectious/inflammatory such as viral, bacterial, fungal, protozoal, parasitic or gastritis, gastroenterititis".

Aspiring Clinical Pathologist
