VCU vs Wisconsin
Hey Everyone! I previously picked VCU for medical school but I was just accepted to the University of Wisconsin off of the waitlist and am looking for advice. I would love people's opinions especially former students of these schools! VCU Pros Curriculum seems intuitive/systems-based which I like Dedicated Step prep time (6wks for Step1, 4wks for Step 2) Home hospital Has 3+3 program where you can do 3 years of medical school and then match into VCU's residency for... University of Wisconsin Madison vs Georgetown
I'm torn between UWSMPH and Georgetown SOM and can't decide where I'd be a better fit. I like a service-driven school with ample research opportunities and the highest chance of matching back into Chicago (my home city) for residency. I'm also leaning towards competitive specialties rn. The city I live in also does not really matter to me UWSMPH Pros - closer to my family and friends, slightly smaller class size (~170s), match well into Illinois (10 in 2021), easy access to research Cons -... Potential missing pre-req question
I was recently accepted to the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine. However, I am concerned I may not meet one of the pre-requisite requirements. The specific course was second semester general biology. My major was in Cell and Molecular Biology and I took many courses in the biological sciences including a genetics course. In fact my degree program used the genetics course in place of a second semester general bio course. Will my offer be rescinded because of this? Should I contact... University of Wisconsin SMPH vs MCW
I am a WI resident, and excited for the chance to go to either of these schools! Was very excited for second look day to hopefully find some clarity after meeting future classmates and getting more questions answered, but the events have been cancelled. MCW: Pros: - awesome facilities for clinical rotations (Froedert and Children's WI) - true P/F - very friendly class culture and supportive academic staff - close friends and family who attend/have attended this school loved it (and many... Case Western vs. University of Wisconsin SMPH
U Wisconsin SMPH Pros 1.5 year pre-clinical curriculum seemed very progressive and, as they told me, helped a lot of students with Step 1 Campus culture felt very friendly, collaborative Lots of innovative research taking place Madison is a great college town, and coming from Michigan I'm pretty used to harsh winters so that's not a big concern MEDIC student-organized free clinic is something I'm very interested in doing Cons Haven't been able...
