Anesthesia-related intervention for long-term survival and cancer recurrence following breast cancer surgery: A systematic review of prospective studies
ConclusionRegional anesthesia and propofol did not improve oncological outcomes following breast cancer surgery. The anti-tumorigenic effect of ketorolac warrants future studies with larger sample sizes. Perioperative infiltration of lidocaine around the tumor may be a promising anti-tumorigenic intervention that can prolong overall survival in patients with early breast cancer. (Source: PLoS One)

Maternal sevoflurane exposure increases the epilepsy susceptibility of adolescent offspring by interrupting interneuron development
Exposure to general anesthesia influences neuronal functions during brain development. Recently, interneurons were found to be involved in developmental neurotoxicity by anesthetic exposure. But the underlying... (Source: BMC Medicine)

SynCAM1 deficiency in the hippocampal parvalbumin interneurons contributes to sevoflurane-induced cognitive impairment in neonatal rats
CONCLUSION: Our data suggested that neonatal sevoflurane exposure results in cognitive impairment through decreased synCAM1 expression in PV interneurons in the hippocampus.PMID:38105652 | DOI:10.1111/cns.14554 (Source: CNS Neuroscience and Therapeutics)

Effect of sevoflurane on serum CK-MB levels after percutaneous coronary stent placement: A prospective randomized clinical trial
CONCLUSIONS: Sevoflurane failed to reduce myocardial injury after PCI. Therefore, its usage should not be routinely recommended.PMID:38108873 | DOI:10.25270/jic/23.00167 (Source: The Journal of Invasive Cardiology)
