Ann Oncol. 2024 Apr 20:S0923-7534(24)00108-X. doi: 10.1016/j.annonc.2024.04.002. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTFollowing the approval of the first antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) in the early 2000s, development has increased dramatically, with 14 ADCs now approved and >100 in clinical development. In lung cancer, trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd) is approved in human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-mutated, unresectable or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer, with ADCs targeting HER3 (patritumab deruxtecan), trophoblast cell-surface antigen 2 (datopotamab deruxtecan and sacituzumab govitecan [SG]) and mesenchym...

Gender Difference in sidE eFfects of ImmuNotherapy: a possible clue to optimize cancEr tReatment (G-DEFINER): study protocol of an observational prospective multicenter study
Acta Oncol. 2024 Apr 21;63:213-219. doi: 10.2340/1651-226X.2024.24179.ABSTRACTBACKGROUND: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have significantly improved outcomes in various cancers. ICI treatment is associated with the incidence of immune-related adverse events (irAEs) which can affect any organ. Data on irAEs occurrence in relation to sex- differentiation and their association with gender-specific factors are limited.AIMS: The primary objective of the G-DEFINER study is to compare the irAEs incidence in female and male patients who undergo ICI treatment. Secondary objectives are: to compare the irAEs incidence in pre- an...

Predictive significance of FGFR4 p.G388R polymorphism in metastatic colorectal cancer patients receiving trifluridine/tipiracil (TAS-102) treatment
CONCLUSIONS: This phenotype/genotype investigation suggests that the FGFR4 p.G388R variant may serve as a new marker for identifying patients who are responsive to TAS-102. A mechanistic hypothesis is proposed to interpret these findings.PMID:38650006 | DOI:10.1186/s12967-024-05184-w (Source: Cancer Control)

N-acetylcysteine Protects Against Myocardial Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury Through Anti-ferroptosis in Type 1 Diabetic Mice
Cardiovasc Toxicol. 2024 Apr 22. doi: 10.1007/s12012-024-09852-7. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe hearts of subjects with diabetes are vulnerable to ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI). In contrast, experimentally rodent hearts have been shown to be more resistant to IRI at the very early stages of diabetes induction than the heart of the non-diabetic control mice, and the mechanism is largely unclear. Ferroptosis has recently been shown to play an important role in myocardial IRI including that in diabetes, while the specific mechanisms are still unclear. Non-diabetic control (NC) and streptozotocin-induced diabetic (DM) ...

Environ Sci Pollut Res Int. 2024 Apr 22. doi: 10.1007/s11356-024-33360-4. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTDye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) is a photovoltaic device that can be produced from natural source pigments or natural dyes. The selection of natural dyes for DSSC application is currently under research. The utilization of natural dye materials that are easy to obtain, cost-effective, and non-toxic can reduce waste during DSSC fabrication. Natural dyes can be extracted from plants through extraction and chromatography methods. The suitability and viability of utilizing natural dyes as photosensitizers in DSSCs can be pr...

Their chemical structures were determined based on IR, ECD, MS and NMR analyses. Cytotoxicity of all isolated compounds towards human hepatocellular carcinoma (HepG2) cell line was examined in vitro by MTT assay. The para-hydroxybenzyl substituted stilbene 10 was potently cytotoxic to the...
