Medical "clearance" for high intensity activities when working fast track or urgent care
Hello, when working fast track or urgent care, people come in with medical "clearance" pre-employment forms which state that the doctor says they are qualified to do high intensity activities such as run two miles, swim 500 meters, etc. Sometimes, it's the person who wants to enter the police academy, or it may be somebody who wants to do an endurance sporting event. This is an activity level far beyond the person who just needs a basic exam so they can go be a teacher or enroll in pharmacy... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

UNECOM vs MSUCOM
I have my deposit due very soon and I would love your input in this: UNE COM Pro: - Seems like great student life, everyone I talked to said so many good things about the school and support system from the teachers - Location seems beautiful - Tuition is 60K/year.. not bad for DO school lol Cons - High pass/honours system, so not a true pass or fail - 4th year rotations seem hectic, you have to find them all? - No hospital affiliation MSUCOM Pro: - True pass or fail - The name... Include this in personal statement?
Hi all! I did not seriously consider medicine until after graduating, and a significant part of this was because I had imposter syndrome regarding my people skills. While I generally like people, I am an introverted, independent, private person (and a woman, FWIW), and I was afraid that because I didn't have the warm, fuzzy, kindergarten-teacher personality, no Adcom would admit me. I am seeking you all's opinion on whether it is ok to bring this up in my personal statement and/or MMEs. One... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

The berkely review course--- avoid!!
I had a horrific experience with THE BERKELY REVIEW COURSE- "TBR". The company is extremely *UNETHICAL* and they treat their customers like $$$, not valued people. DO NOT waste your time, energy or money on this course. Guaranteed to disappoint!!! Pointers to take from this post.... They will not refund your $ if you decide to cancel the course, even if you do not use their services. They do not respond to your emails when you have a question or concern Their teachers... Feeling like I won ’t be a good doctor
Second year vet student and having a hard time believing I can actually turn out to be a good vet. A little bit of back story is that I have generalized anxiety disorder and this feeling of ending up as an inadequate doctor has been growing for the last semester. Grades/tests have been great but after an exam a teacher will reference something like a drug i just got tested on and I completely blank on what it’s used for. On winter break I thought it would be a good idea to shadow clinics in... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Should I take Physics II before the MCAT?
My MCAT is in June. I still haven't taken Biochem, so I'm taking that and studying the next 6 months for the MCAT. I haven't completed Physics II yet (withdrew from it last semester; did badly since it was online). Is it worth taking Physics II? I would have to take it online again which sucks. But I would have a better teacher this time. I plan on doing the 100 day Nymeria plan January to March and then taking the Blueprint live course from April to June. I feel like I would study all the... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
