Online Course Instructor Salary
Hello, For anyone that's teacher an undergrad psych course, like intro to psychology, solely online. What is your salary? Is there a pay bump based on the number of students in the class? Have there been any bonuses given to you regarding how long you have taught the class? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

If you had a kid preparing for college what would you push them into?
I have a few buddies that are at that stage in life. Me personally. Teacher with a math minor. If they don't handle the math teach. If they handle the math Georgia tech omcs program for 10k. You never hear about teacher majors flunking out but calculus definitely weeds em out. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

How can you tell if a surgeon is good?
I'm still a medical student (IMG), but I can easily tell how good a doctor is in non-surgical specialties. I can simply look up what they are saying and see if it makes sense. When one of my teachers said "End diastolic volume decreases in systolic heart failure" and stuck with that assertion after I questioned it, I knew that I should stick to a textbook for instruction. I'm rewatching a cell phone video of a foot amputation we got to see and I'm wondering how "correct" the surgical... How can you tell if a surgeon is good? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Doctors make less than teachers/hour?
Time Spent Becoming a Doctor 1: Bachelor’s Degree • 40 hours/week • 40 weeks/year • 4 years = 6,400 hours (to be a competitive candidate for medical school, this number is likely much higher in actuality) 2: Medical School • 80 hours/week (that’s 2 full-time jobs) • 48/weeks/year • 4 years = 15,360 hours 3: Residency • 80 hours/week (that’s 2 full-time jobs) • 50 weeks/year • 3 years minimum up to 7 years (the first year is known as an internship) = 12,000 –... After Post-December while on Waitlist
Do you have to stay enrolled in classes even if you end up graduating this fall but get waitlisted at dental schools? I’d rather just use that winter semester to work (substitute teacher for 5 days a week) and volunteer instead of taking classes not required. I already would have around 160 credit hours (good GPA as is) when I graduate in 2 weeks. I wouldn’t see it to be necessary for me to continuously pay for credits I don’t need, but please let me know what’s the best thing to do if for... Co-enrollment at CC while also taking my sciences at a 4-year
Hi, I have to take four semesters of a language to graduate from my undergrad. There are a few teachers at my local CC who I feel do a really good job of teaching language. I took one lady for Spanish I there this summer who I would really like to take again for Spanish II in the spring because she was a very good teacher. My university primarily uses grad students without as much teaching experience for language classes. I am considering co-enrollment: taking my science/major classes at... Personal connection with a surgeon through shadowing
I am spending a lot of free time with a surgical service at the hospital I am rotating at. I have enjoyed the time because they are great teachers and I have gained an appreciation for an area of medicine I never even considered before. Any advice on formally talking to them about pursuing their specialty as a career? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Undergraduate GPA at Duke and Medical School Admission...need help
Hello, I am a current first year undergraduate at Duke. As it would be expected at Duke, the pre-med courses are incredibly challenging. I have found that (coming from a public high school in Florida, where I did not even have teachers in some of my science courses), many of my classmates attended elite private schools that prepared them very well for the intro science courses I am taking now. As a result, on exams, I keep scoring in the average or one standard deviation above the average... Undergraduate GPA at Duke and Medical School Admission...need help (Source: Student Doctor Network)
