Does online research count?
Hi! Recently, I've been part of an international project as a student researcher to gather articles of my interest and post about it. The project's goal to be an informational hub for teachers around the world, and it's under the management of a professor. As a student without any other research, would this be considered as research even though it's not in the traditional lab setting? I have been so far enjoying reading and bringing exposure to relevant public health topics, so I'm confused... Does online research count? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Dentists kids coming to the office?
Looking for opinions.. my friend & I have planned to be dentists our whole lives. Her parents are dentists. We made a plan as young college students that we would build an office with a big room in the back for our children to be homeschooled in. We figured we would hire teachers or tutors to teach/observe them there. I was homeschooled a few years and know how flexible it can be. Is that even possible? Her dentist parents who own their practice never said anything against our idea. Now... Dentists kids coming to the office? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Another Diversity/Adversity Question
How do the following topics sound when talking about the respective prompts: Diversity 1) Work as a city councilman as a college student and trying to enact health-focused ordinances while balancing opposing viewpoints/leadership I can bring to class 2) Work as an ESL teacher to native Spanish speaking adults and explore further what I learned about communication and helping others navigate unfamiliar situations Adversity 1) struggles with weight I had when I was younger... What are my options in terms of getting into an MD program in the US?
So this is a very specific post but any guidance will be greatly appreciated. I am non-traditional applicant. I graduated from college as a Neurobiology major a few years ago after which I did a 2-year program called Teach For America. Through it I taught science to 7th and 8th graders and gained a lot of leadership experience. Unfortunately it was a very stressful environment to work in with limited resources and being a first year teacher I was juggling a lot of things. The state where I... Fall 2020 Online vs In-person
Hello, this is my first time posting a thread, so if I'm doing something wrong, please let me know. Next semester I have the choice of taking an online or in-person physics class. The online class has the best physics teacher and you're basically guaranteed an A if you try. The in-person class is a bit more difficult and the professors don't really teach. However, because of the pandemic, all large classes that were previously in-person are transitioning to hybrid courses, the lectures... Fall 2020 Online vs In-person (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Study materials
Hello future dentists, I am a sophomore in college and I am really upset because I am worried I will not make it to dental school because I dont know wheee to begin! First off, I found a couple sellers for Kaplan Dat 2017-2018 + DAT Destroyer book of 2019 for 25 dollars. Is that a bargain? In addition, I only took bio, chem1, anatomy, and phis barely this year. This covid thing messed up my physiology class that were practically spending 1 day on 1 chapter. My teacher is also a very big... Study materials (Source: Student Doctor Network)

With the avg dental school debt being 400k, please explain your strategy to conquering this enormous debt when the intrest atm is reaching 8%.
I have heard of many paths people have taken and the most prominent one sounds awful. Less known: NHSC and HPSP scholarships: can't rely on them as getting in is ultra cutthroat competitive even with a 4.0 gpa and a 25 DAT. Most prominent: paying around 4-5k per month of your 7k dental associate salary after taxes for 10 years. You would be living with around 2k to spare for living/gas/insurance/food/etc. Living with less to spend then a elementary school teacher after getting your...
