Please help! Applying to medical school with misdemeanors!
A few years ago I got several misdemeanors for speeding tickets that I also forgot to appear for, so I was arrested and let go and paid off the fines and got it taken care of. I am super worried that these misdemeanors will prevent me from getting into medical school, doing rotations, and matching for residency. Do you think this is the case? Please don’t give me any sugar coating I need to know if it’s worth it pursuing this or if I’m screwed! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

My Vulnerable and Personal Caribbean Medical School Journey (Part 1)
This is for my Pre-Meds and Non-Traditional students considering a Caribbean medical school. Fair warning, this is going to be a long post, but it will be my personal unbiased journey. I have no secret agenda; I am not trying to convince you to do one thing or another. I will be keeping it 100% real. This is NOT going to be a post completely bashing Caribbean schools like I’ve seen a few other toxic posts/comments. But this also won’t be sugar coated, “everything is just fine” post either... Fears of disliking certain aspects of medicine?
Does anyone else have this fear of only treating the symptoms but not the disease? If I have to spend the rest of my life prescribing Metformin for high blood sugar or statins for high cholesterol without attempting to fix the root cause, I’d rip my hair out. I wouldn’t take such a job even if it paid me 500k because I’d be treating symptoms rather than disease. In fact, I’d be much more satisfied with a 150k job where I could directly help a patient cut out processed sugar and excess... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Dietary advice needed
It demonstrates that people should try to consume: lots of potatoes, bread, rice, pasta, and other higher fibre starchy carbohydrates; at least five portions of a variety of fruits and vegetables; some beans, pulses, fish, eggs, meat, and other proteins; some dairy products or substitutes; and only small amounts of food and beverages that are high in fat and sugar. It is based on the five food groups and illustrates how much of each food category should be included in a healthy and... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Should I change my diet to improve focus and intelligence in school and on mcat?
I eat a lot of junk food and fast food, but my goals are more extreme, like completely eradicating artificial sugar and fast food, rather than eating it occasionally or in moderation. I'm wondering if anyone has tried something like this to retain information, because I watched an educational video all the way back in middle school which I still remember saying not to eat too much sugar or caffeine before an exam. Boost Breeze
You jedis think a jury of our peers would think boost breeze would fit the criteria of a clear?? my facility wants to bail on ensure clearest and move to this product which is clear but has protein whey isolates in it? I wasn’t thrilled the source of sugar is not malodextran (used in all the studies done in this field) but instead high fructose cornsyrup. Also typically we would want Low in osmolality to support gastric emptying before surgery??? But beyond those to points we have to... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
