Are AACPM statistics off?
The statistics for 2022 seem different depending on which sheet you look at.
-The GPA Applicant statistic shows the decreasing applicants number everyone has talked about for 2022 ie. 716 applicants so I'm assuming that's correct.
-The MCAT Applicant statistic sheet shows matriculant values ie. probably a unintentional PDF upload mistake...
However - depending on which sheet you look at for matriculants in 2022 - they either show 358 matriculants (MCAT sheet) or 531 (GPA...

USUHS vs. KCUMB (KC)
I've been fortunate enough to receive acceptances at KCUMB(KC) and USUHS. However, I am having a hard time deciding between them. What are your thoughts?
KCU MB
Pros:
In the Midwest. I'm from the Midwest.
Tuition is reasonable
P/F/Honors system
Excellent Match statistics every year
Students seemed happy (is this true in your experience?)
OMM is kept at a minimum.
In general, I really liked the school when I went there for a campus tour as well as Kansas City.
I...

Failed Oral Boards
Results came out today. Looks like 10.4% of people failed as well. If anyone is interested can see all the stats here: ABPMR - Exam Statistics
Did exceptionally well on my written boards, but failed on the interpersonal and communication domain. In hindsight, I would have done a lot more mock exams. Even after finishing, I knew I didn't hit a perfect score or anything, but I didn't think I failed either. Such a strange exam. Now I have my speciality boards coming up which I'm no...

2023 MD & DO NRMP Match Rates
Looks like the NRMP posted a video about the 2023 match statistics (according to med school reddit).
It lists match rates for the top 14 specialties or something, so there is no published data for NSGY/integrated plastics/etc. in these videos.
Original Video:
The charts were found on reddit, but it looks like the charts themselves come from a long NRMP video, so they seem legit. Interesting to see neuro & path fall for DOs, but some commenter says the actual # of DOs who...

UCI vs Miami Miller
University of California, Irvine
Pros
Amazing weather and the wonderful laid back lifestyle that Southern California offers
2 hours from parents/home with my support network from undergrad surrounding me as well
Great match statistics and increased chances to end up in SoCal after school
The med school is on the undergrad campus, which I think would provide great opportunities for hobbies/socializing/intramurals/etc
Both my best friend from college's mom and the PI of my...

Anesthesia folks: Taking CCM exam without passing oral boards?
I'm in that agonizing period between taking that awful exam and waiting for the result. Statistically I probably passed, but my brain won't accept it until I get the email.
SO if I didn't pass, does that mean I wouldn't be able to take the CCM exam in October? ABA's website doesn't say much. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

How do you get better at Uworld?
I'm 30% done with UWORLD and I haven't gotten any better.
It's not that I'm not reviewing....
But it's more like just about every UWorld Question tests concepts that is rarely tested again.....so far in my 30% completion.
So how is it that anyone can improve UWorld scores if each question is a totally different concept with very few overlaps (except stuff like ethics, statistics, and stuff). (Source: Student Doctor Network)
