New data from the MSAR: % of disadvantaged students matriculated
The new 2020 MSAR shows the % of matriculants who self-identify as disadvantaged (underserved area/government programs/etc) on AMCAS. Just thought how eye-opening it was looking at these statistics for some of these schools. This is data from 2019, with me cherry picking schools: Harvard 21% Hopkins 9% Penn 6% NYU 3% Michigan 15% U-Washington 21% Northwestern 6% UCSF 13% Cornell 19% UCLA 38% USC Keck 14% UC Davis 56% UC Riverside 68% Tulane 11% Vermont 11% Penn State 15% Looks like some... Missing statistics on COVID-19?
I am wondering if there may be purposefully withheld or missing data on whom had died after contracting COVID-19. I had heard that there were news from China that there were younger population who had also died during this mishap, including patients who were in their 20's and doctors in their 30's, but these information were intentionally not included out of the government's fear of a crashing market. Therefore current thought that it is just the older population that is seriously affected... Missing statistics on COVID-19? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Thoughts on Ferkauf School of Psychology/Yeshiva University PsyD program?
Hi all, I just got accepted into Clinical Psych PsyD program of Ferkauf, and trying to decide if I should take their offer. I am an international student from China and so student loan would not be available for me, but luckily my parents are willing to help me pay my tuition. Even though I won't have the burden of debt after graduation, I am still wondering if the quality of the training at Ferkauf would worth the high tuition. Their statistics seems good, and I have not heard many negative... Thoughts on Ferkauf School of Psychology/Yeshiva University PsyD program? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Coronavirus (COVID-19) High Yield Video
Lordy it's been a long time since I started a thread. A lot of my med students and residents have been asking about coronavirus and this came across my Facebook, and I found the youtube link. It's 3 minutes but hits a bunch of the high yield statistics for those of us who don't want to read NEJM and the CDC. Not sure if anyone will find it useful, it's a little more lay person focused than I usually refer to. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Suicide trends in the US, 1900 - 2019
For some time, I have been trying to track down an Excel sheet of the suicide rate in the US over the past many decades so I could see for myself how it was really changing (people say it's going up recently, but is that meaningful when looked at more broadly than just the past 1-2 decades?). Unfortunately, I couldn't find this anywhere. So I went through the CDC's website where you can find the old published "Vital Statistics of the United States" and entered the data in Excel myself. I... Suicide trends in the US, 1900 - 2019 (Source: Student Doctor Network)

University of Arizona PhD Clinical Psychology; Any insight?
I just recently discovered that the University of Arizona has a clinical program within their psychology department and have good concentrations in Neuropsychology and Psychophysiology. I looked at their APA statistics, they are thoroughly accredited and their APA match rates have been ~%100 for the past ~5 years. Also it's funded!! Does anyone have any information about the strength of this program? I realized the class size is small (~5-6 clinical students). Would you recommend this to... Life Sciences class vs Biological Sciences class
So I'm trying to take a probability and statistics class this semester. My college offers a lot of versions for this class geared toward different career paths. The two I'm looking at registering for is one for the life sciences and one for the biological sciences. The life sciences class is considerably easier than the biological sciences class (200 level vs 300 level) so I was wondering if med schools care that I choose the easier class. Neurology residency competitiveness
Hey guys, I recently switched my track from Emergency med to Neurology. Naturally, all of my previous research on residency was focused on EM. I am looking into neurology statistics now.
