Sexual safety in healthcare: organisational charter
NHS England -On 4 September 2023, NHS England launched its first sexual safety charter in collaboration with key partners across the health care system. Signatories to this charter commit to taking and enforcing a zero-tolerance approach to any unwanted, inappropriate and/or harmful sexual behaviours within the workplace, and to ten core principles and actions to help achieve this. A summary of NHS England ’s Fit and Proper Person Test framework
NHS Employers -NHS England published a revisedFit and Proper Person Test (FPPT) framework in response to the recommendations made by Tom Kark KC in his 2019Review of the FPPT. The review highlighted areas that needed improvement to strengthen the existing regime. The framework is effective from 30 September 2023 and NHS organisations are expected to use it for all new board level appointments or promotions and for annual assessments for all board members going forward from that date. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is allowing an additional 30 days for comments on a proposed information collection titled "Public Health/Public Safety Strategies to Reduce Drug Overdose Data Collection." This data collection collects information on overdose prevention efforts that involve public health and public safety sectors or address justice-involved populations at increased risk of overdose. Comments are due within 30 days of this notice.
