Magnetically and Electrically Responsive Soft Actuator Derived from Ferromagnetic Bimetallic Organic Framework
In this work, a novel bimetallic metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) (NdFeMOFs) is developed via solvothermal synthesis method. The NdFeMOFs  shows superior electrochemical and magnetic properties after calcination, which enable their use as a dual responsive material under the external electrical and magnetic stimuli. The ability to accomplish the complex motions at ultralow input voltages and magnetic fields makes them a promising mat erial for robotic applications. With the developed electroactive and magnetoactive soft actuator, walking movement of a starfish robot is demonstrated. AbstractThe advancement in smart devices...

Magnetic Targeting Nanocarriers Combined with Focusing Ultrasound for Enhanced Intracerebral Hemorrhage Therapy
A magnetic targeting nanocarrier loaded with a peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma agonist (15d-PGJ2-MNPs) is magnetically targeted to the area of the hematoma with the subsequent application of focusing ultrasound for alleviating brain injury, accelerating hematoma clearance, attenuating neuroinflammation, and reducing the brain edema in the intracerebral hemorrhage mouse model. AbstractIntracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) remains a significant cause of morbidity and mortality around the world, and surgery is still the most direct and effective way to remove ICH. However, the potential risks brought by surgery, suc...

Extracellular Vesicles as Delivery Shippers for Noncoding RNA ‐Based Modulation of Angiogenesis: Insights from Ischemic Stroke and Cancer
Although noticeable pathophysiological discrepancies exist in cancer and stroke, these two conditions share a common pathway, namely hypoxia-associated angiogenesis. The possible mechanism behind this co-occurrence has been pointed to the extracellular vesicle (EV)-associated noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs). EV-ncRNAs exhibit abilities to modulate angiogenesis both in the tumor microenvironment and in stroke. Moreover, EV delivery of ncRNA is expected to become an essential diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic tool. AbstractIschemic stroke and systemic cancer are two of the leading causes of mortality. Hypoxia is a central path...

Vitality ‐Enhanced Dual‐Modal Tracking System Reveals the Dynamic Fate of Mesenchymal Stem Cells for Stroke Therapy (Small 47/2022)
Stroke TherapyIn article number2203431, Xiaoling Gao, He Wang, Jun Chen, and co-workers engineer mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) with near-infrared (NIR) and magnetic resonance (MR) dual-modal tracking nanoparticles via a bioorthogonal method. An antioxidant layer covered on the MSCs' surface enhances their vitality in a harsh stroke microenvironment. The vitality-enhanced MSCs remigrate from penumbra to the infarct core act just like firemen struggling with a fire to save lives.
