Is Hypertension Diagnostic Testing and Diagnosis Associated with Psychological Distress?
CONCLUSIONS: The hypertension diagnostic process did not lead to short-term or intermediate-term changes in self-reported HRQOL. However, BP-related worry increased short-term and persisted at 6 months among individuals with a new hypertension diagnosis. Ketone body 3-hydroxybutyrate elevates cardiac output through peripheral vasorelaxation and enhanced cardiac contractility
AbstractThe ketone body 3-hydroxybutyrate (3-OHB) increases cardiac output and myocardial perfusion without affecting blood pressure in humans, but the cardiovascular sites of action remain obscure. Here, we test the hypothesis in rats that 3-OHB acts directly on the heart to increase cardiac contractility and directly on blood vessels to lower systemic vascular resistance. Associations of Apixaban Dose With Safety and Effectiveness Outcomes in Patients With Atrial Fibrillation and Severe Chronic Kidney Disease
CONCLUSIONS: Compared with 2.5 mg, use of 5 mg apixaban was associated with a higher risk of bleeding in patients with atrial fibrillation and severe chronic kidney disease, with no difference in the risk of stroke/systemic embolism or death, supporting the apixaban dosing recommendations on the basis of kidney function by the European Medicines Agency, which differ from those issued by the US Food and Drug Administration.PMID:37681341 | DOI:10.1161/CIRCULATIONAHA.123.065614

Cervical dumbbell-type tumor spontaneously shrinking following an ischemic stroke
CONCLUSION: Here, we report on a 57-year-old man with cervical MR images revealing that a cervical dumbbell schwannoma was progressively compressing both the spinal cord and the right vertebral artery. Quantification of carotid plaque composition with a multi-contrast atherosclerosis characterization (MATCH) MRI sequence
CONCLUSION: MATCH images can be used to quantify plaque components such as LRNC and IPH but not for calcifications.
