Vertebral Artery Dissection in a Woman Due to Golf: An Under Recognized Etiology
Conclusion: This patient is the first woman in the literature to suffer from VAD as a result of playing golf. The twisting motion of the head and neck in a golf swing may be a risk factor for dissection and subsequent development of stroke. As a result of increased female participation in golf, we expect to see increased incidence of women presenting with “golfer’s stroke” in coming years.

Aortic dissection diagnosed on stroke computed tomography protocol: a case report
ConclusionsWhen acute stroke is suspected due to neurological deficits, plain head CT is the first choice for imaging diagnosis. The addition of cervical CT angiography can reliably exclude stroke due to aortic dissection. CTP can identify ischemic penumbra, which cannot be diagnosed by plain head CT or diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging. These combined stroke CT protocols helped us avoid missing an aortic dissection.

Bilateral vertebral artery dissection complicated by posterior circulation stroke in a young man: A case report
Conclusion: VAD should be taken into consideration in differential diagnosis of posterior circulation stroke or transient ischemic attack in young patients. Intravenous thrombolytic therapy may be safe and effective for stroke-complicated cases. This case report demonstrates that expanded diagnostic protocol for acute ischemic stroke assures rapid and correct diagnosis.

Conclusions: While history of migraine and neck manipulation are significantly associated with CeAD, most of the traditional vascular risk factors for stroke are less prevalent in this group when compared to strokes due to other etiologies. Cervical Artery Dissection Caused by Electrical Cupping Therapy with High-Negative Pressure – Case Report
Cervical artery dissection is an important cause of stroke in the young. The etiology is still discussed controversial. The most obvious reason for a dissection of extracranial arteries is due to a trauma, eg. after car accidents or other high speed traumas such as high-velocity road traffic accidents. Besides these clear cases, chiropractic neck maneuvers represent potential reasons for vessel injuries. Case presentation: We here report a rare case of secondary cervical artery dissection after so-called cupping therapy and a preventive treatment with a direct oral anticoagulant.

Cervical Artery Dissections with and without stroke, risk factors and prognosis: a Chilean prospective cohort
We aimed to characterize spontaneous cervical artery dissection (CeAD) patients with and without stroke and describe risk factors for cerebrovascular complications in a Chilean prospective cohort.Methods: Consecutive CeAD patients admitted to a Chilean center confirmed by neuroimaging. Logistic regression was used.Results: 168 patients were included, median follow-up time was 157 days. Stroke occurred in 49 (29.2%) cases, 4 (2%) patients died, all of whom had a stroke, and 10 (6%) presented CeAD recurrence.

Reversible Cerebral Vasoconstriction Syndrome and Dissection in the Setting of COVID-19 Infection
The current COVID-19 pandemic has recently brought to attention the myriad of neuro- logic sequelae associated with Coronavirus infection including the predilection for stroke, particularly in young patients. Reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome (RCVS) is a well-described clinical syndrome leading to vasoconstriction in the intracra- nial vessels, and has been associated with convexity subarachnoid hemorrhage and oc- casionally cervical artery dissection. It is usually reported in the context of a trigger such as medications, recreational drugs, or the postpartum state; however, it has not been described in COVID-19 infection.

Bilateral vertebral artery dissection and cerebellar stroke: a rare complication of massage.

Cost and Utility of Routine Contrast-Enhanced Neck MRA in a Pediatric MRI Stroke Evaluation Protocol PEDIATRICS
CONCLUSIONS: In our large series, the addition of a routine contrast-enhanced neck MRA to our pediatric stroke MR imaging protocol was of extremely low yield. Abstract Prevention is essential to stroke management because of the high risk of recurrence. Stroke incidence is increased by known risk factors, which can be prevented. Cardiovascular prevention after stroke or TIA also includes aetiology-specific treatment, when it is known. Carotid artery injury and stroke secondary to prolonged retraction remains an extremely rare complication in anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF). Conclusions Patients with CAD and VAD differ significantly in presentation, indications for treatment, and treatment methods. Endovascular treatment of CAD and VAD has low procedural morbidity and is associated with a low incidence of future stroke.

Conclusion: In our study population of patients diagnosed with CeAD, 1 in 14 was aged ≥60 years. In these patients, pain and mechanical triggers might be missing, rendering the diagnosis more challenging and increasing the risk of missed CeAD diagnosis in older patients.

Risk of Carotid Stroke after Chiropractic Care: A Population-Based Case-Crossover Study
Chiropractic manipulation is a popular treatment for neck pain and headache, but may increase the risk of cervical artery dissection and stroke. Patients with carotid artery dissection can present with neck pain and/or headache before experiencing a stroke. These are common symptoms seen by both chiropractors and primary care physicians (PCPs). We aimed to assess the risk of carotid artery stroke after chiropractic care by comparing association between chiropractic and PCP visits and subsequent stroke.

In-Hospital Stroke Recurrence and Stroke After Transient Ischemic Attack: Frequency and Risk Factors Clinical Sciences
Conclusions— In-hospital stroke recurrence was low with optimal current management. Patients with a history of TIA, severe symptomatic carotid stenosis, or uncommon causes of stroke were at higher risk. Pneumonia was associated with a higher risk of stroke recurrence in patients with initial TIA or minor stroke but not in the overall population studied. Aphasia may bias the detection rate by concealing new neurological symptoms.

Posterior circulation ischemic stroke with aberrant vertebral artery cervical entrance at the C4 vertebral level
We describe 2 cases of recurrent ischemic stroke in the posterior circulation associated with an abnormal vertebral artery (VA) entrance into the transverse foramen. Neither patient had evidence of atherosclerotic disease, but both had arterial wall defects nearby the VA entrance at the C4 level suggestive of local arterial dissection.
