Five-Year Survival of Patients Treated with Minimally Invasive Direct Coronary Artery Bypass (MIDCAB) Compared with the General Swiss Population
CONCLUSION: Though suffering from coronary heart disease, patients after MIDCAB show almost equal survival rates as an equivalent subcohort corresponding to the general Swiss population matched on age and gender. Thus, our data show this treatment to be safe and beneficial.PMID:37044119 | DOI:10.1055/s-0043-1768035

Predictors and outcomes of stroke after isolated coronary artery bypass grafting. A single-center experience in 20,582 patients
Stroke remains a devastating complication after cardiac surgical procedures despite advances in perioperative monitoring and management. The purpose of this study was to determine the predictors of stroke in a large, contemporary coronary surgery population.

Center-Level Variation in Failure to Rescue Following Elective Adult Cardiac Surgery
CONCLUSIONS: The present findings affirm prior work demonstrating a close link between variation in FTR and mortality, but not complications. Further study is necessary to delineate modifiable care pathways that mitigate FTR.PMID:37031769 | DOI:10.1016/j.athoracsur.2023.03.034

Safety and feasibility of minimally invasive coronary artery bypass surgery early after drug eluting stent implantation due to acute coronary syndrome
CONCLUSIONS: EACAB is a safe and feasible method of LAD revascularization in patients who received DES for ACS within 180 days prior to surgery, despite early dual antiplatelet therapy discontinuation. The adverse event rate is low and acceptable.PMID:36929299 | DOI:10.33963/KP.a2023.0066

Left Atrial Appendage Closure During Coronary Bypass Surgery in Patients on Hemodialysis
CONCLUSIONS: Concomitant LAA closure during CABG can reduce the risk of death and stroke in ESRD-HD patients with normal sinus rhythm.PMID:36928272 | DOI:10.1253/circj.CJ-22-0573
