Use of CHA2DS2-VASc score to predict the risk of ischemic stroke and mortality in patients who underwent coronary artery bypass grafting surgery: a retrospective cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: Ischemic stroke was associated with a higher mortality risk after CABG. Higher CHA2DS2-VASc scores were associated with higher ischemic stroke risk. POAF did not significantly affect the relationship between CHA2DS2-VASc scores and ischemic stroke. CHA2DS2-VASc score can be used to predict ischemic stroke and mortality following CABG.PMID:36734704 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202301_31062

Same-Day Carotid Artery Stenting and Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery
CONCLUSION: The study showed that same-day carotid artery stenting and coronary artery bypass grafting for concomitant carotid and coronary disease treatment could be a promising and feasible therapeutic strategy.PMID:36735614 | DOI:10.14503/THIJ-21-7781

A Retrospective Study to Evaluate the Association Between the Glasgow Prognostic Score and Atrial Fibrillation, Stroke, and Mortality at 30 Days and at 1 Year After Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery
CONCLUSIONS GPS is an easy-to-calculate score that has reasonable diagnostic accuracy in determining the risk of POAF and stroke as well as 30-day and 1-year cardiovascular mortality.PMID:36718108 | DOI:10.12659/MSM.939283

The Outcomes of Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery after 18 Months-Is There an Influence of the Initial Right Ventricle Diastolic Dysfunction?
CONCLUSIONS: RV diastolic dysfunction in the preoperative period was associated with the development of MACE within 18 months after CABG, and the ratio Et/e't was one of the independent predictors of MACE in a multiple regression analysis. This makes it expedient to include an assessment of not only systolic but also diastolic RV function in the preoperative examination. The inclusion of an assessment of RV diastolic function in the pre-CABG evaluation of patients deserves further study.PMID:36661913 | DOI:10.3390/jcdd10010018

A Partial Clamp During Off-Pump Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting Can be Safely Used When Utilizing the Calcium Score with Computed Tomography For Evaluating The Ascending Aorta
CONCLUSION: A PC does not increase postoperative stroke incidence compared with a CFD, when utilizing calcium score evaluation in OPCAB.PMID:36602388 | DOI:10.1532/hsf.4957
