FDA clears AliveCor ’ s KardiaBand ECG for Apple Watch
AliveCor said today that the FDA cleared its KardioBand electrocardiogram device for the Apple Watch, designed to monitor for early signs of atrial fibrillation.
First introduced in March 2016, KardiaBand is the first medical device accessory to be cleared by the federal safety watchdog for the Apple Watch, Mountain View, Calif.-based AliveCor said. It’s designed to display and record clinical-grade cardiac rhythm readings in real time in about 30 seconds, the company said.

What Causes Microcephaly?

Microcephaly is usually defined as an occipitofrontal head circumference (OFC) more than 2 standard deviations (SD) below the mean for sex, age and ethnicity. Severe microcephaly is used for OFC < 3 standard deviations. Rates of microcephaly range from 0.5-12 patients/10,000 live births.

Improving everyday memory performance after acquired brain injury: An RCT on recollection and working memory training.
Conclusion: Our results show that combining working memory and recollection training significantly improves performance on everyday memory tasks, demonstrating far transfer effects. This trial can clarify the effect of acupuncture-rehabilitation therapy on hippocampal volume and its intervention mechanism on oxidative stress injury in VCI patients with T2DM, and clarify the scientific connotation of its neuroprotective mechanism in the VCI patients with T2DM, in order to provide a theoretical basis for the clinical application of acupuncture-rehabilitation therapy in the treatment of VCI.
