Multiple Peri-Operative Complications are Associated with Reduced Long Term Amputation Free Survival Following Revascularisation for Lower Limb Peripheral Artery Disease: A Population Based Linked Data Study.
CONCLUSION: Multiple complications after surgery for lower limb PAD carried a compounding risk of reduced long term amputation free survival. Patients experiencing at least one complication form a high risk group that requires increased attention to prevent the potential development of further complications.

Rivaroxaban Plus Aspirin Versus Aspirin Alone in Patients with Prior Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (COMPASS-PCI).
Conclusions: DPI compared with aspirin produced consistent reductions in MACE and mortality but with increased major bleeding with or without prior PCI. Among those with prior PCI one- year and beyond, effects on MACE and mortality were consistent irrespective of time since last PCI. Long-Term Outcomes for Patients With Acute Coronary Syndrome and Nonvalvular Atrial Fibrillation
Short-term outcomes are worse for patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) with a history of nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF). However, long-term prognosis remains unclear. We linked administrative health databases to identify patients hospitalized with ACS (ST-elevation myocardial infarction [STEMI], non –STEMI [NSTEMI], and unstable angina) between 2008 and 2019 in Alberta, Canada. Patients were stratified according to history of NVAF before hospitalization. The primary outcome was a composite of all-cause mortality, hospitalization for myocardial infarction, or stroke at 3 years.

Temporal patterns, characteristics, and predictors of clinical outcomes in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention for stent thrombosis
CONCLUSIONS: PCI for ST has declined in frequency over a 7-year period, with most procedures performed for early ST. Among the different times of ST onset, only early ST is associated with worse clinical outcomes after PCI. Routine use of intravascular imaging and newer P2Y12 inhibitors could further improve outcomes in this high-risk procedural group.PMID:35599596 | DOI:10.4244/EIJ-D-22-00049

Conclusions
People with capacity-affecting conditions and associated communication difficulties continue to be excluded from research, with recruitment efforts largely concentrated around participant-facing documentation. There is a need for a more nuanced approach if such individuals are to be included in ethically sound research.
