Do the technical features of carotid eversion affect early restenosis? Design of a prospective multicenter study
Myointimal hyperplasia restenosis remains a concern following carotid endarterectomy. It occurs in about 6% of people. The 3-year rate of stroke after restenosis is 5.2%. Several risk factors for restenosis have been identified, such as smoking, hypertension, female gender, diabetes, dyslipidemia, or small carotid diameter. The primary objective of this prospective multicenter study was to determine whether the technical characteristics of the eversion technique influence the 1-year rate of restenosis.

How To Avoid China ’ s Medicine Monopoly
I want to share a shocking statistic with you… Around 80% of all the pharmaceuticals sold in America — both prescription and over-the-counter — are manufactured in China. I’m talking about drugs for Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s, blood pressure and blood thinners, diuretics, aspirin, antibiotics, and a big chunk of the world’s insulin and diabetes drugs — just to name a few.1 We don’t even make penicillin anymore. The last penicillin plant in the U.S. closed its doors in 2004. Americans who rely on medicine are now almost entirely at the mercy of a country whose relations with the U.S. have become more ...

Oral microbiome mediated inflammation, a potential inductor of vascular diseases: a comprehensive review
Front Cardiovasc Med. 2023 Aug 30;10:1250263. doi: 10.3389/fcvm.2023.1250263. eCollection 2023.ABSTRACTThe dysbiosis of the oral microbiome and vascular translocation of the periodontopathic microorganism to peripheral blood can cause local and systemic extra-oral inflammation. Microorganisms associated with the subgingival biofilm are readily translocated to the peripheral circulation, generating bacteremia and endotoxemia, increasing the inflammation in the vascular endothelium and resulting in endothelial dysfunction. This review aimed to demonstrate how the dysbiosis of the oral microbiome and the translocation of oral...
