Trials to Improve Blood Pressure Through Adherence to Antihypertensives in Stroke/TIA: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Stroke
Conclusions Multifactorial interventions including a component to improve medication adherence can lower blood pressure after stroke/TIA. However, it is not possible to say whether or not this is achieved through better medication adherence. Trials are needed of well-characterized interventions to improve medication adherence and clinical outcomes with measurement along the hypothesized causal pathway.

Exercise‐induced changes in cardiovascular function after stroke: a randomized controlled trial
ConclusionsThis was the first study to examine the effects of aerobic exercise after stroke on cardiovascular hemodynamics. High‐intensity exercise improved right‐sided function and early myocardial relaxation. Low‐intensity exercise may also benefit plasma lipid, glucose and inflammatory markers, and ambulatory capacity. This study is an important step towards understanding mechanisms by which exercise may reduce cardiovascular risk and function.

C-reactive Protein and Homocysteine Predict Long-term Mortality in Young Ischemic Stroke Patients
Conclusions: There is an independent association between CRP and homocysteine levels obtained several years after ischemic stroke in young adults and subsequent mortality, even when adjusting for traditional risk factors. This association seems to continue for at least 12 years after the measurements.

The Detrimental Effect of Aging on Leptomeningeal Collaterals in Ischemic Stroke
Conclusion: Our findings show that there is a significant interplay between patient age and adequacy of leptomeningeal collateral circulation in patients with proximal MCA occlusion. The relationship could contribute to adverse tissue outcome and thereby to unfavorable clinical outcome observed in elderly patients with ischemic stroke.

Predicting major bleeding in patients with noncardioembolic stroke on antiplatelets: S2TOP-BLEED
Conclusions: The S2TOP-BLEED score can be used to estimate 3-year major bleeding risk in patients with a TIA or ischemic stroke who use antiplatelet agents, based on readily available characteristics. The discriminatory performance may be improved by identifying stronger predictors of major bleeding.
