Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) in the U.S. Hemophilia Population: A Cohort Study
Conclusions: In this interim analysis of an ongoing national prospective cohort study, older men with moderate to severe hemophilia commonly report risk factors for CKD, including HTN (51.5%), DM, viral infection, and potential renal damaging medication use. Only 11.6% had CVD. Frequency of Cardiovascular Events and Effect on Survival in Liver Transplant Recipients for Cirrhosis Due to Alcoholic or Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis.
CONCLUSIONS: Cardiovascular events occurred with similar frequency in transplant recipients for nonalcoholic steatohepatitis or alcoholic cirrhosis. Patient survival was affected in both groups, but male patients with concomitant hepatitis C virus infection remained at higher risk for a cardiovascular event after liver transplant.
