Utility of < em > China < /em > -PAR stroke equations for predicting 10-year stroke risk in the rural Inner Mongolian population in China
CONCLUSION: The China-PAR stroke equations have potential predictive ability for 10-year stroke risk in the rural Inner Mongolian women, while it might not suit the rural Inner Mongolian men well. The performance of China-PAR stroke equations in other ethnic groups in China will need to be further evaluated.PMID:35758218 | DOI:10.1080/01616412.2022.2089833

Clustering of cardiovascular risk factors and stroke: a prospective cohort study in Inner Mongolia.
CONCLUSION: The clustering of CVRFs increased the risk of stroke. On the basis of FHCVD, the clustering of hypertension with other CVRFs and the clustering of diabetes with tachycardia had higher predictive value for stroke than other cluster. PMID: 27730847 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Neuroprotective effect of epidermal growth factor plus growth hormone-releasing peptide-6 resembles hypothermia in experimental stroke.
DISCUSSION: With hypothermia being a good standard neuroprotectant reference, these results provide additional proof of principle for EGF and GHRP-6 co-administration as a potentially neuroprotective stroke therapy. PMID: 27665924 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Combined effects of family history of CVD and heart rate on ischemic stroke incidence among Inner Mongolians in China.
This study aimed to evaluate the combined effects of family history of cardiovascular diseases (FHCVD) and heart rate on ischemic stroke incidence among Inner Mongolians in China. METHODS: A prospective cohort study was conducted among 2589 participants aged 20 years and older from Inner Mongolia, China. The participants were divided into four groups according to status of FHCVD and heart rate and followed up from June 2002 to July 2012. Cox proportional hazards models were used to evaluate the combined effects of FHCVD and heart rate on the incidence of ischemic stroke. RESULTS: A total of 76 ischemic stroke occu...

Assessment of dose-effect and therapeutic time window in preclinical studies of rhEGF and GHRP-6 coadministration for stroke therapy.
Authors: Subirós N, Pérez-Saad HM, Berlanga JA, Aldana L, García-Illera G, Gibson CL, García-Del-Barco D Abstract BACKGROUND: Stroke continues to be a leading cause of mortality and morbidity worldwide, and novel therapeutic options for ischaemic stroke are urgently needed. In this context, drug combination therapies seem to be a viable approach, which has not been fully explored in preclinical studies. OBJECTIVES: In this work, we assessed the dose-response relationship and therapeutic time window, in global brain ischaemia, of a combined therapeutic approach of recombinant human epidermal growth factor (E...
